S5E119 Braving the Storm: Tracy Owens’ Struggle and Triumph over Bipolar Disorder
From the tranquil pastures of a dairy farm to the tumultuous journey through bipolar disorder, we sit down with Tracy Owens, a remarkable psychology graduate, wilderness therapy worker, and mindfulness coach. Her story is one of resilience, underscored by a deep connection to nature and animals, and the transformative power they brought to her life. We explore her journey from a seemingly idyllic childhood to the pressures of choosing a career that ignited her mental health issues.
This episode throws light on the often stigmatized and misunderstood world of mental health, as Tracy courageously narrates the emotional rollercoaster of her bipolar disorder diagnosis. The challenge of feeling unworthy and incapable of achieving goals is a struggle many of us can relate to, and Tracy’s journey of finding hope and joy is truly inspiring. She discusses the transformative power of connecting with her faith and shifting her mindset, emphasizing the importance of authenticity in a society that often only wants to see our happy moments.
In a world where our lives are often dictated by the hustle and bustle of daily routines, Tracy shares her unique morning ritual that helped her manage anxiety and establish a strong connection with her true spiritual side. She walks us through her affirmations, her practice of combating intrusive thoughts, and the immense role gratitude plays in maintaining a positive mental space. Tracy’s story is not just a testament to her strength and tenacity, but also a beacon of hope for all those battling similar challenges. Our intention is that her journey and insights provide comfort and inspiration to our listeners and that you will connect with her to join her morning routine group.
