In this lesson we focus in on Gen. 34:1-7 and the story of Jacob’s daughter, Dinah (pronounced Dee nah).  The story unfolds at the ancient city of Shechem.  We are going to see some amazing connections to Jesus as these verses seem to testify of Jesus and especially His teachings.  We must remember that Jesus said …

Joh 5:39  “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me …”

It can be shown that it is likely He said this between 24-30 A.D. and the only Bible they had then was Jesus’ Bible, the Hebrew Scriptures or the Old Testament.  So for His disciples then it was clear that Jesus as a rabbi of the 1st century, one who like other rabbis taught how to live out the Torah, live out the life God wants, had only the Hebrew scripture as the basis for His teachings.  Thus, it is not surprising that the Dinah story is connected to Rabbi Jesus and His teachings to them then and us now.
