Form I-9 and Visa Cards: In-Person Inspections of Documents and Surcharges

Employers who conducted remote document inspections related to Form I-9 during the pandemic have until Aug. 30, 2023, to review those same employee documents in person. Gene Marks discusses additional changes to Form I-9 that are intended to make completing this required employment eligibility form a simpler process. In other news impacting businesses, Visa announced it will send auditors to businesses to ensure they are not passing along inflated surcharges to customers that break the terms of agreement.
