Avon Lakers vs St. Martin Martins Class C State Tournament 2023

In a rematch of a 2022 Class C 2nd round game, the Lakers were eliminated by the Martins with a 5-4 loss in Dassel.  Caleb Curry gave Avon a 1st inning lead with a 2-run Homer, but St. Martin got 1 in the 2nd and then took the lead with 2 in the 3rd.  With the Martins leading 4-3 going to the bottom of the 8th, Kyle Lieser belted a solo Homer for St. Martin to make it 5-3.  That turned out to be a huge run as Reese Gregory Homered to lead off the 8th for Avon to make it 5-4, but then Martins pitcher Scott Lieser got 3 straight strikeouts to end Avon's season in the Sweet 16.
