“I’m Into Something Good: My life managing 10cc, Herman’s Hermits & many more!” by Harvey Lisberg with Charlie Thomas (Omnibus Press)
In his charming memoir, Harvey Lisberg talks about the wonderful (and a very few not-so-wonderful) people in his long career managing pop bands. He was part of the British Invasion of the 1960s and the artsy, intellectual pop scene of the 1970s. Harvey is still close to many of his friends from those days, most notably Peter Noone, a fellow Manchurian (from Manchester, Northern England). Peter was 15 when Harvey met him and helped turn Herman's Hermits into an international sensation. We'll also learn how the main members of a brilliant and witty band, 10cc, also achieved internal stardom with very different songs on either side of The Pond. He'll also tell how, as a Jewish guy, he turned down a young composer-lyricist team's offer to be a part of their new project (which turned out to be "Jesus Christ Superstar". But he is still friends with them.) I enjoyed it and I know you will as well.
