Making the Best Use of the Time

David petitioned the Lord in Psalm 39 for wisdom to know the brevity and frailty of his life. He prays for an acute awareness that the number of his days is as nothing.

David was a warrior, leader, musician, poet and king and had every reason to boast in the flesh; however, he understood that his life, just like that of every man, is a mere "breath."

Imagine if every one of us desired to adopt a mindset like that of David, and petitioned the Lord to give us a real grasp of the brevity of our lives. Imagine how differently we would live if we knew how many days we had left.
