Chris Katzenmeyer on intentions from the heart; Artificial Intelligence – risks and opportunities

This week, we talk to Chris Katzenmeyer, Director of the Legacy Labyrinth Project, a former board member of Veriditas, and a pioneer in the field of applying intention through contemplative practice. Drawing on Chris’s rich knowledge, intuition, and experience, we receive a wonderful 101 grounding in the basics of intention, while learning about the real effects of holding intention in groups and the transcendent experience that may be felt through this work, which Chris has frequently witnessed first-hand. 

Chris talks about learnings from newly published research into holding intention together that she co-authored, including a surprising outpouring of compassion for action that arose when 800 people came together globally on the same day to hold the same intention. We also discuss the challenges involved with setting intentions that come from the heart rather than head, and the energy of feeling into connection with others. 

We also take a close look at the impact of Artificial Intelligence on humanity, as a need for regulation becomes high on the agenda for many governments. We consider the risks, ethical questions about allowing machines to take decisions and launch acts, and potential benefits of AI at a time that some commentators have called a new industrial revolution.
