Bricks, Brambles & Bytes: Navigating Technology Marketing
Business:Marketing
Google unrolled a second major update this month and it's roiling the content world. Many websites who help the top of the SERPS for years are now falling in the rankings. Google has now permanently folded its helpful content update into the core update, meaning that with every update, unhelpful content should (theoretically) be downgraded while helpful, original, direct-answer-to-search intent type of content should rise. Well, that's the theory, anyway. Yet it's not what we are seeing. Despite years of saying frequent updates are desirable, it looks like the search engine is viewing too frequent updates as AI generation signals. Sigh. There's a lot more which I try to unpack in this episode of Bricks, Brambles, and Bytes.
