Het Rijswijks Lyceum heeft veel leerlingen met een niet-traditioneel-Nederlandse achtergrond. Diversiteit in het team is een belangrijk punt van aandacht. Door het Haagse programma ‘Wereldburgers voor de Klas’ heeft men mensen aan de school weten te binden die in het land van herkomst in het onderwijs werkten. Mohammed Abualkibash (leraar Engels) en Ramazan Kivrak (was leraar Turks en is nu leraar wiskunde in opleiding) vertellen over hun entree in het Nederlandse onderwijs. Hoe ze zich vastbijten in de Nederlandse taal en hoe ze een Nederlandse onderwijsbevoegdheid halen.
