Tom and I are old enough to remember typing pharmacy labels and filling physical prescriptions into Dewey Decimal System type apothecary drawers.  Times have changed and the informational age is now becoming the artificial intelligence age. Throughout most of the last two decades, Shelly Spiro, a former ASCP President, has led the effort for ALL of pharmacy in health information and technology. Why? Because as a profession, we have to have a seat at the table or we risk being left behind. Shelly has made sure pharmacy is linked to the latest technology and electronic billing and documentation system in healthcare. She sits on that wall for pharmacy ensuring our future.
