When New York cop John McClane heads to L.A. to patch things up with his estranged wife during her office Christmas party, he expects awkward small talk, not a terrorist takeover. Armed with nothing but a sense of justice and a festive lack of footwear, he turns Nakatomi Plaza into the world’s most violent holiday gathering. As Hans Gruber tries to play Santa with a bag full of hostages, McClane delivers presents of exploding C4 and witty one-liners.
