A Thrill of Hope - Part 5: Christmas Eve

Life is full of ups and downs. Having hope gets us out of bed in the morning. Not having hope makes it harder to get out of bed but we still have to do it. Two thousand years ago the Roman empire was in full swing. The people of Israel were living lives of quiet desperation. Hope of being delivered from Roman occupation was but a fleeting dream. God had not spoken through a prophet for 400 years. Why would anyone dare to hope? Why would anyone think there was even a remote possibility things could get better? On a cool December evening when no one expected it, hope came into the world. Not just a little hope, but the hope of the world.
