"The 2nd Scroll" - Tim Richards - Week 17

This Sunday, Pastor Tim Richards continues The 2nd Scroll Series, looking at Acts 19:1-41.

Sermon Questions:

1. Have you ever had the opportunity to visit a place where there are large temples erected to foreign gods? What struck you in visiting those temples? How would you have felt if you were Paul entering a city like Ephesus and viewing the temple of Artemis – one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world?

2. Many of the believers in Ephesus had continued to dabble in the occult. Ultimately, they recognized they needed to completely cut off those practices. What are some things Christians in our context might hold onto that are similar?

3. Pastor Tim discussed the odd story of people giving rags touched by Paul to friends for healing. Did you agree with his explanation? Why or why not?

4. Thinking about your friends who don’t yet follow Jesus, what spiritual influences stand in their way? Spend some time praying that God’s Spirit will disrupt those influences and help them see Jesus for who He truly is.
