Beyond the Gates, the new CBS soap opera, Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley)
takes the spotlight as the character fans can't get enough of. The show, which aired its introductory special on February 17th, saw Mosley's character promising revenge and vowing to make her cheating husband, Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett), and his mistress, Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings), pay. In a twist of fate, Lawson is revealed to be the best friend of Hamilton and Dupree's eldest daughter, Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit). 

The Gates adds more spice to the plot as Dani Dupree has a fling with the handsome playboy and photographer, Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman), who happens to be the foster son of her sister, Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson (Daphnee Duplaix) and her husband, Dr. Ted Richardson (Maurice Johnson). 

Beyond the Gates is set in Fairmont Crest, a fictional affluent African American country club community in Maryland. The soap features 27 sets and a total of 40 characters. The showrunners, Sheila Ducksworth and Michelle Valjean, make history as the first two black females ever to helm a soap opera.
