#purescience In December last year, scientists discovered an object barrelling toward Earth. The ‘city killer’ Asteroid 2024 YR4 now has only a 1.5% chance of hitting the Earth as opposed to 3.1%, as per the latest prediction by the US space agency, NASA. The space agency said the 3.1% probability, or a 1-in-32 chance of hitting the Earth, was the highest odds yet for an asteroid this size.
