Marigold has always felt the connection to the spirits and nature around her. So when her grandmother shows up to tell her she's actually a witch, Marigold jumps at the chance to be able to take over her grandmother's domain.

When she continues to run into Lottie, the best friend of Marigold's childhood friend, The two form a bit of a rivalry. Especially because Lottie doesn't believe in magic.
