Why Do We Celebrate Easter? (Romans 10:9)

We’ve been studying key texts in the Book of Romans and this weekend we will look at Romans 10:9. It is a perfect text to emphasize the importance of the resurrection of Jesus. It says, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Wow, that it pretty pointblank, isn’t it? This verse teaches that accepting the reality of the resurrection is absolutely essential. You might wonder, “Why is so much dependent upon my acceptance of the fact that Jesus is alive?
