Welcome to podcast number 118 which is a continuation of podcast 113. Fred and Jim use the
Camera Axe and
Projectile module to trigger a flash from a pellet gun and shoot some more crackers, balloons and even potatoes! In addition, they use a
Sony NEX-5 in addition to a
Canon 5D III to prove the camera isn't that important in high speed photography, The light comes from a single
580 MKII flash triggered by the
Camera Axe. The flash is dialed down to a factor of 1/128 in order to produce a flash around 20,000 of a second. The results can be amazing!
More information on the Camera Axe can be found at www.dreamingrobots.com and we recommend you check out www.techphotoblog.com/tpb-90 for a nice video blog post on the accuracy of the projectile module from the designer, Maurice Ribble.
In the news, Blocks camera is raising funds on Kickstarter for a modular camera, Metz of Germany has declared insolvency, Hasselblad has announced a $2395 mirrorless camera and tune in for more!
