Today in England we mark the Feast of the English Martyrs - those people who, at the time of the Reformation and afterwards, refused to deny the teachings of Jesus Christ through the Holy Catholic Church, and they paid with their lives.
The word 'martyr' meant something different to the first Christians - martyrs in those days were NOT dead. They were living martyrs, their lives permanently under threat from denunciation.......
