Speaker: Pastor Brad Kolbo
The Apostle Paul was given the assignment, by God himself, to preach the message of the gospel to Gentiles. This message of Gentile inclusion by faith alone, without becoming legally Jewish, was often contradicted by people who came after Paul and Barnabas and tried to convince these believers in Jesus that they must become legally Jewish in order to be saved. Paul fought with these people and ended up going to Jerusalem to meet with the council to settle the matter once and for all. The Jerusalem Council had the potential for dissension and division but ended with a unified decision that Jews and Gentiles are both save by faith in Jesus and that Gentiles did not have to become legally Jewish in order to be saved.
