Romans 10 Part One: The Acceptance of the Messiah
Paul is now shifting his focus from Israel’s rejection of the Messiah to that of helping them to transition to their new faith in the Messiah, the Jesus our LORD. Previously, Paul described in 9:31 that Israel tried unsuccessfully to live up to the righteous requirement of the Law. In 9:32-33, he further told his Jewish audience that Israel stumbled over that “Stumbling Stone,” Jesus himself. God deliberately put LORD Jesus into Israel’s history. It was at that very moment that God stopped accepting the righteous requirement of the Law and instituted faith in the LORD Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
