The former president of the GAA Sean Kelly has denounced last weekend’s decision to clear Diarmaid Connolly to play for Dublin against Mayo in the semi-final. The GAA’s Disputes Resolution Authority made the decision after Connolly appealed earlier bans after he was sent off for striking Lee Keegan in the closing stages of the previous match last Sunday week. But the Fine Gael MEP for the South constituency says the decision sets a bad precedent.
