Freeing Felons is a Bad, if Bipartisan Idea

President Obama, his party and a number of influential Republicans evidently agree on at least one thing:  They think we need to let a lot of felons out of America’s prions.

Proponents insist that they’re only proposing to free “non-violent drug criminals.”  But don’t let them kid you:  This initiative would public safety at risk.

Seventy-seven percent of freed criminals revert to lawlessness.  And illicit drugs kill and otherwise destroy lives, even if the trafficker doesn't use weapons. 

In addition, some percentage of felons incarcerated for crimes that didn’t involve violence become inured to it – and willing to practice it – as a result of their time in prison.

Perhaps most worrying, large numbers of prisoners in U.S. jails have been converted to Islam by Muslim Brotherhood-tied chaplains.  We don’t need more jihadists in America.  If they’re in jail, keep them there.
