Empty Me

2 Kings 4:1-7

You have more than you think when you offer the little that you have

1. Verbalize your needs - 1 Kings 18:4, Psalm 34:17, 2 Timothy 2:19 

2. Admit your emptiness

3. Use what you have - John 12:3-5, Matthew 5:15, Ezekiel 16:13, Psalm 23:5, Isaiah 1:6, Exodus 25:6, 1 Samuel 16:13, Matthew 26:12, Jeremiah 31:12, Isaiah 61:3, Acts 10:38, John 6:9-11, Judges 15:15

4. Obey what you hear - Joshua 6:3-5

5. Get alone with God - Psalm 46:10 

6. Make room for blessings - Matthew 9:29

7. Give what God has given you - Proverbs 22:7, 1 Kings 3:13, Ephesians 3:20, Luke 6:38, Malachi 3:10

The key is not the container but whether or not Christ the treasure is inside! Some of us have filled ourselves so full of stuff and sin and self that there’s not room for Him.

It’s time to empty ourselves. 

• What do you need to get rid of?
• Do you feel empty, spiritually stalled, used up and lost?
• Are you empty enough to be used by God or have you been filling yourself up with stuff that doesn’t satisfy anyway? 

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power

 Belongs to God and not to us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7
