From the very first verses of the Bible, God established himself as our great provider. He provided for the animals, and for Adam and Eve. He provided a sacrifice for Abraham and spared his son Isaac. And in today's reading we will see how God provided for Elijah through a severe drought and famine. It's an account that reminds us that God still provides for us even today. When we have seasons of drought, God still makes sure we have what we need, and his promise to us is that he will always provide. Our faith in him can be bolstered in this, that if we seek his kingdom first, everything else will be taken care of for us. It's an amazing promise that we can depend upon.
