Episode # 1544 - Halloween 2016

Happy Halloween everyone this year 2016 (as it’s Producer Nick’s favorite time of year and holiday) and today, besides Halloween, Mary FioRito is back and Is joined by Father Mike McGovern from the Archdiocese of Chicago and Pastor of St. Rayfield in Antioch, IL or more commonly Mill Creek, IL.  Mary also, since it’s Halloween, Mary and Mike talk about the more religious areas with this, not the scary elements and Trick or Treat, but the subject and history of All Soul’s Eve/All Hallos Eve and All Saints Day and All Soul’s Day, leading to a discussion on how the differences between the religious sides vs the frightening sides, or perhaps a good side vs bad side here if you will.  This also leads to talking about the fun elements for the whole family.   Some of the more intense elements here are related to how the signs of the times have changed in terms of behavior perhaps, as well as stayed the same.  As the show goes on, Mike and Mary talk about the Holy Obligations behind these days coming up this week, with Mike sharing much history on this.  Also other cultures are talked about in terms of celebration this month, including Day of the Dead.
