Five years later Hannibal Lecter got a new face...literally. Thomas Harris had his second novel adapted to the big screen with The Silence of the Lambs. The film sees rookie FBI cadet Clarice Starling replaced by seasoned FBI veteran Will Graham. Brian Cox was replaced with Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Hannibal the Cannibal Lecter. A whole new team was brought on to adapt Harris' novel and according to the Academy they made the right choice. Audiences went wild for Hopkins cold yet inviting portrayal and the Academy awarded the film five Oscars in the "big five" categories which has only happened three times.
