Abraham Bolden was an Illinois State trooper and Pinkterton
detective who later became the First Black American named to the
White House Secret Service detail by John F Kennedy himself. His
excitement, however, quickly turned to deep disappointment when
he witnessed the abject laxity, carelessness, unprofessionalism,
drunkenness and even hostility to the Commander in Chief
exhibited by the Secret Service detail
