Today on Felony Friday Raeford Davis joins host John Odermatt to discuss the current state of policing in the US and the debilitating impact of the War on Drugs. Raeford served the City of North Charleston police department for six years, including four years as a patrol officer and two as a special victims unit detective. During the time that Raeford was an officer in North Charleston, the city was ranked the 8th most dangerous city in America. Prior to becoming a police officer, Raeford served in the United States Coast Guard.
Raeford has a BS in Criminal Justice from Charleston Southern University. Since leaving law enforcement Raeford has become an outspoken advocate for police reform and for the ideas of liberty. He's a member of LEAP, Law Enforcement Action Partnership (formerly Law Enforcement Against Prohibition.) LEAP has a new name, but is working towards the same goal, drug reform and criminal justice reform. Raeford previously appeared on the Lions of Liberty podcast on Episode 73 with host Marc Clair.
