The titel of novel by Norbert Himme´s "Hart an der Grenze" can be translated in different ways. It could be read as "Close to the edge" or as "Strong at the frontier". The story is about a rebel punk rock youth in the late seventies / early eighties of the last century. It´s about a life on the boring country side of West-Germany. A life between books, music und rebellion. Rebellion against the "normal" live and the downpressing society. And, of course, against the growing power of a nuclear industrie. Reading the book, you´ll find a lot of music between the lines, it was the soundtrack of these times. (Click here and read some lines (in German))The author, a good friend of mine, asked me to mix down an extraction of this sounds. So here it is.
