The British withdrawal from the London Fisheries Convention could lead to the displacement of hundreds of Irish fishing vessels. That’s according to the Sinn Fein MEP Liadh Ni Riada who says the government is waking up too late to the impact of Brexit on the Irish fishing industry. The Ireland South MEP, who is on the European Parliament’s Fisheries Committee, says the British withdrawal from the Convention should prompt a review of the Common Fisheries Policy.
