The hardest part of the Brexit negotiations are yet to come. That was the conclusion of MEPs this morning during a debate on the Brexit talks. MEPs warned the UK government not to take a Brexit transition deal for granted. And they called on Britain to clearly lay out its vision for the UK’s future relationship with the EU. The Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes says phase two of the Brexit talks are going to be very difficult and that Ireland will need allies to secure a proper Brexit deal with the UK.
