The bluesy,sleazy music of Pipe will put the image of a smoky,whiskey soaked bar into your mind. The 4 man band from near Chicago's Southwest Bridgeport neighborhood has won fans over in a few different genres,including Outlaw Country Music fans, with thier amped up version of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues. The band also draws from a familiar grassy substance as inspiration. I talk to guitarist Frank "Fingers" Damiano & drummer Paul Brodio as they play songs from their new EP "Down In The Smoke" at Wire in Berwyn.
