MEPs in the European Parliament have been hearing from the young Irish man Ibrahim Halawa who spent more than four years in prison in Egypt. Mr Halawa has been attending a conference in the Parliament on the human rights situation in Egypt. He’s been telling MEPs about his harrowing experiences behind bars in Cairo. Mr Halawa was finally released from prison last October. In an interview with EuroParlRadio he explained how his time incarcerated in Egypt means a return to normal life is not possible.
