Message Summary What have we sacrificed for the Gospel? Does the Gospel mean very much to us? Before you answer this question, please read the Apostle Peter’s consideration, in 1 Peter 4:16-19, of the obligation followers of Jesus have to the Gospel: “Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And ‘If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?’ Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.". Some of us have lost jobs, friendships, and family members because of being a follower of Jesus. What have you sacrificed for the Gospel? Sacrifices, for the sake of the Gospel are not done as works performed in a belief that they will lead to our Salvation. Instead, true sacrifices are done out of our joy from living for Jesus versus living for ourselves. Jesus gave his all for you; what have you sacrificed for the Gospel?
Today’s Affirmation: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Lust. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Perfect Provision. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
