Imagine a world where every living thing with a Y chromosome dies. Everything except you and your male pet Capuchin monkey. This is the premise for Y: The Last Man's main character, Yorick Brown.
Y: The Last Man had a 60 issue run starting in 2002. It was created by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra. There have been several attempts at making Y: The Last Man a TV series or movie. Every time something has happened to put a halt to production. In 2014 the rights to the story reverted back to the creators.
FX Network has been working with the creators since 2016 to bring this show to TV. Vaughan stated the show was "very slowly coming to life. No news I can share, other than that it’s all chugging along happily." Elijah Wood has thrown his hat in the ring for consideration to be the main character, Yorick Brown.
