Clifford Brooks was born in Athens, Georgia. His first collection of poetry, “The Draw of Broken Eyes & Whirling Metaphysics” was nominated for a Pulitzer and Georgia Author of the Year. His second poetry collection, “Athena Departs: Gospel of a Man Apart,” was nominated for Georgia Author of the Year. Clifford is founder of the Southern Collective Experience which publishes The Blue Mountain Review. He is also the man behind the NPR show, Dante’s Old South.
