This Ocean Life, Episode 28 - Mike Bolton and a Life with Sharks
In episode 28 we speak with Mike Bolton, a legendary underwater photographer and shark conservationist who has spent a lifetime working to raise awareness of our ocean world. Mike shares stories from learning to dive in Panama's pristine waters in the 60's, becoming a competitive spearfisherman, and working to salvage treasure from historic shipwrecks. Mike relates on his transition to hunting fish with a camera to learn and protect rather than for game and his last decade of work with white sharks in the famous Guadalupe Islands of Mexico where he returns every year to lead tours and document these amazing animals. Mike's youthful personality and humility is awesome and his stories from working with dozens of shark species are very inspiring.
Thanks for sharing Mike's ocean life with us. You can find pictures and video of Mike on his Instagram page and his One Ocean Diving tour website. There is also some fun stuff on the This Ocean Life Instagram and Facebook pages. We are also on Twitter ranting about anything cool happening in the ocean.
