Ep 49: Kick-Ass (2010) Recap and Review!

Being a hero may not be what it’s cracked up to be. At least that’s the lesson learned in the 2010 smash-hit Kick-Ass based on the 2008 comic of the same name. Kick-Ass follows Dave Lizewski (Aaron Taylor Johnson), a normal New York teenager, as he tries his hand at vigilantism, with some discouraging results. His journey puts him in the path of other heroes (Nicholas Cage & Chloe Grace Moretz), and villains (Mark Strong & Christopher Mintz-Plasse), but things definitely don’t go the way he planned. Directed by Matthew Vaughn with the comic written by Mark Millar, Kick-Ass was a tour de force when it hit theaters and bookshelves…but does it hold up? Lucky for you listeners the guys at CBC decided to review BOTH the film and the comic, in an in-depth review you do NOT wanna miss!
