MEPs will today decide if they want to back new rules governing passenger rights for rail passengers.
A series of measures are proposed, including compensation for customers when trains are delayed, better assistance for people with reduced mobility and improved access to cyclists.
Fine Gael MEP, Brian Hayes, says consumers across the European Union would benefit from the measures, if they are supported in the European Parliament:
