Eamonn Torsney talks to the Fine Gael MEP Deirdre Clune about a vote in the European Parliament last Thursday which should lead to better rights for rail passengers.
MEPs voted for higher compensation to be paid to rail passengers who suffer delays. They also gave the green light for better assistance to people with reduced mobility, better access for cyclists, and clearer complaints-handling procedures.
The European Parliament also want rail companies to improve information given to passengers about their rights.
