MEPs in the European Parliament stood for a minute’s silence today to show their respects to the victims of last night’s gun attacks in Strasbourg. They’ve been holding their monthly plenary session here in the French city.
Three people were killed and at least twelve were injured after a lone gunman opened fire on crowds enjoying Strasbourg’s busy Christmas market.
Thousands descend on the city at this time of the year to experience the city’s magical Christmas stalls and decorations.
The Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes was in the area when the shooting happened.
