Health In Balance - Ignite Your Purpose #IYP 183
Silly season rolls around the clock again and its party, party, party for Christmas Holidays, Break or Vacation.
Only its not the Christmas holidays its the December holiday as thats when all the office parties and functions begin, because everybody now feels obliged to have a christmas function in some way to say thanks to the staff for a year in the office.
Side note why cant we simply say thank you all the way through the year, take team members out to lunch take an interest and learn whats really going on at the coal face.
I digress......
Everything goes way out of whack, balance becomes a word only vaguely mentioned in your accountants office
This time at Christmas rather than the instant gratification, instant everything Christmas, or when the biggest dopamine hit comes from buying gifts rather than actually giving them, lets take a moment to reflect on some gratitude for the basics, fresh air (or fresh enough) clean freaking water (clean enough) from a tap or faucet in your house) that has lighting and heating and 2.4 children all clothed, educated, fed, entertained and the list goes on
This year how about rather than giving the irrelevant red tie, or unwanted blue socks, giving some time, and not even for a charity.
Stopping to give somebody the time of day and to actually listed, rather than giving 3 dollars to the homeless man, how about giving a hug, or paying for them to get a shower and cleaned up, sitting down for a conversation and finding out the backstory..........
And if we are still going, we will get deep into the health in balance part, and this usually involves having to shut the funk up for fear of being politically incorrect......
