New York Times bestselling author Jeff Pearlman (@jeffpearlman) joins the Red Ticket Blues Podcast to go over it all! We jump into his journey into the world of sports writing that took him from Maophac, New York to Sports Ilustrated and to his world of writing.
We chronicle his beginnings in professional sports writing at Sports Illustrated, where he penned the infamous John Rocker expose where the Braves Pitcher insulted every everyone under the sun in New York City.
Jeff also gets into some of the challenges of writing a biography, like some of the obstacles and criticism he faced while writing the Walter Payton biography, Sweetness.
We talk about personal challenges of dealing with sometimes unpleasant subjects like Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens and if there "complicated" public image is accurate.
Of course, Jeff goes over the 1986 Mets and dealing with some of the characters on that wild team and if any parallels exist with this current New York Mets.
