A Sinn Fein MEP says new EU rules to protect farmers from unfair trading practices are a missed opportunity.
Members of the European Parliament meeting in Strasbourg backed the measures today by an overwhelming majority.
They outlaw practices such as the use of hello money, the refusal of a buyer to sign a written contract with a supplier and the misuse of confidential information.
Midlands North-West MEP, Matt Carthy voted against the proposals.
He says some key issues have not been addressed in measures adopted by the parliament:
