I had the pleasure of sitting down with Sumayya Menk who is currently doing her Masters at the University of Chicago in the School of Social Service Administration. She is also the youth program coordinator assistant at RefugeeOne, a refugee resettlement agency. Her areas of interest are child care, child mental health and social services in general. We had a great time talking about the stigma of mental health in the immigrant community and how to overcome this while developing strong levels of communication between child and parent.
