She is currently the President of the American Sociological Association. The author of numerous books, chapters, and journal articles, Dr. Romero’s research and scholarship on social inequalities and justice incorporates the intersectionality of race, class, gender, and citizenship and links the parallels between domestic gendered race relations and immigration and identifies the continuum between racism against citizens and racism against non-citizens.
