Last week we put summer to bed with our Labor Day review of POINT BREAK, which means that this week we’re sending the kiddies back to school with the Tom Berenger-starring THE SUBSTITUTE (1996), a film in which a former military badass gets to live out everyone’s greatest fantasy by going into a high school and taking out a bunch of teenagers. Err... I mean it’s everyone’s fantasy in a metaphorical way, because teenagers are so annoying, not in a literal school shooting way. Look, it’s hard to find ways to talk about old action movies in today’s messed up world, okay? Cut us some slack.
