Women still face major inequalities despite the growing number of females securing top jobs in the EU.
That’s according to the Fine Gael MEP Frances Fitzgerald who was reacting to Christine Lagarde’s approval by MEPs this week to become the next president of the European Central Bank.
Both the presidency of the European Commission and the ECB will now be held by women. And more females than ever are set to become EU Commissioners.
But according to Frances Fitzgerald, women still face major obstacles despite these advancements.
