Sure, the film is called Cthulhu, but it's a (loose) adaptation of "The Shadow Over Innsmouth." Unfortunately, neither film nor "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" are served well by this adaptation that writer/executive producer Grant Cogswell funded by selling his house (oof).
Also, sure, Cthulhu features a gay protagonist and we're both straight guys, but we're also both pretty sure that in this episode we brainstormed a film that better uses the perspective of a gay man to explore and deconstruct Lovecraft's themes of identity and shame than this embarrassing example of tokenism.
